Annual O-Soji [cleaning]: Purifying Our Dojo Together
Sun, Dec 14
|Burlington
It’s that time of year again! We are calling on all members of the Burloak Aikido community to grab a broom, a rag, or a mop and join us for our Annual Dojo Clean-up. This is our chance to give back to the space where we train so hard all year. It’s a communal effort to deep clean the dojo from top

About the event
In Japanese tradition, the end of the year is marked by O-Soji (大掃除) — the "big cleaning." In the context of Aikido, this is more than just chores; it is an extension of our practice.
Our dojo is where we challenge ourselves, support each other, and grow. It takes care of us throughout the year, and once a year, we come together to take care of it. This is a time to scrub the mats deeper, dust the high corners, organize the equipment, and spiritually "purify" our training space to welcome fresh energy for the coming year.
A Note from Sensei Ben: While Sensei Ben cannot be with us physically this year due to teaching commitments at another location, he will be joining us in spirit. He sends his sincere gratitude to every student who steps up to help care for our shared training home in his absence.
We invite all…
